What is Catalytic air cleaning?

Simply put, a catalytic air cleaner uses a glass vessel, a wick, a special catalytic stone, and a fuel (either scented or unscented)

After the stone is lit, it stays hot and draws air into the catalytic stone. The fuel cleanses the air from 99.9% of airborne particles, bacteria, viruses (including Covid-19), and can even combust pet dander.

It takes approximately 1 hour to do a full air transfer in a normal sized room. After the air transfer is completed, the scented fuel leaves behind a scent that lasts approximately 6 hours.

Unlike a candle, there is no dangerous soot or paraffin byproduct left behind in the air. Plus odors are destroyed, not masked. Each catalytic lamp is able to be used an infinite number of times, as you are only in charge of exchanging fuels when the fuel level is low.

How catalytic cleaning began

France, 1898

Catalytic lamps were originally designed by a French pharmacist in order to rid hospital rooms, operating rooms, and morgues of deadly airborne diseases. These lamps quickly became popular in the mainstream public as those who desired clean air would use these devices in their home. Our catalytic lamps and fuels provide enough heat to eliminate most odors, coronaviruses (including Covid-19 and its variants), airborne bacteria, and other contaminates within minutes. Not only is the air left clean, but your home is left with one of our many pleasant scents that will linger for 6-8 hours.

Our Mission

As these lamps gained popularity over the last 100 years, the prices continuously went up. Many of the makers of the fuel resorted to overseas production in order to streamline costs and increase profits. Prices have now grown to the point where the lamps cost $50+ and the 16oz. bottles of liquid cost $25+.

Our mission is to make all of our liquid fuels in the US, keeping costs to a minimum. Our lamps are made by our manufacturing partner overseas in order to bring you the best designs at a price roughly 50-60% off of other lamps.

How do our lamps clean the air?

Because we formulate our products with a higher volume of catalytic fuel, our stones burn hotter and kill more airborne bacteria and germs. We frequently tell people that when they see the white steam coming from our lamps, that is indication that the product is performing just as it should- keeping your living space, workspace, or any space free of dirty air.

How it Works

1) Our alcohol based fragrance is filled 2/3 full inside of your beautiful Simple. Pure. Air diffuser.

2) The linen rope wick absorbs the liquid and draws it into the special catalytic stone

3) After lighting the stone with a flame, allow the stone to burn for up to 5 minutes

4) Extinguish flame and as the solution continues to fuel the stone, a catalytic process is created to eliminate odors, viruses, bacteria, germs, and even pet danders and dust

5) After 1hr to 2 hrs, place cap back on top of your SPA Diffuser to conserve the solution inside

6) Repeat whenever you need the air in your space transformed into Simple. Pure. Air

At Simple. Pure. Air , we use high-quality glass and manufacturing methods to create a beautiful work of art without overpricing the product. We want our lamps available to everyone that desires to have clean air in their living or work space.

Are your lamp fuels different from other popular lamp fuels?

Yes they are! Our lamp fuels and all ingredients are made in the US, not overseas. This reduces import and shipping charges and makes our prices lower. We also only use 99% isopropyl alcohol in our fuels, making them cleaner burning and hotter to kill more microscopic bacteria and viruses in the air. Our scents are also blended in the US with just the right amount of perfume to create a scent that is bold, but not overpowering.

Can I use your lamp fuel in other brands of lamps?

Of course! Our fuels are designed to be used in any catalytic lamp on the market. Do not mix our fuels with other catalytic lamp fuel makers- it is insulting :-)

I see white smoke when burning my lamp, what's wrong?

Our fuels burn hotter and kill more odors and germs on a microscopic level. The white, NON-TOXIC smoke that you see is the result of steam from the catalytic process. This is absolutely normal and will not create a soot or damage your home.

How much should I fill my Lamp?

We recommend filling your SPA lamp 2/3 full with our catalytic fuel.

How long should I leave the flame burning before blowing out?

In order to create the catalytic process, leave the flame lit for 3-5 minutes. After you extinguish the flame, leave the stone uncovered to allow the catalytic process to happen for 1-2 hours. If your stone does not stay hot after extinguishing the flame, you need to soak your stone in our wick cleaner

Can I mix SPA scent fuels with other SPA scents?

Each scent is especially formulated to create the optimum burning temperature and scent diffusion. Mixing scents is not recommended and may damage the wick

How do I change the scent in my SPA lamp?

We recommend burning through the entire amount of fuel in your lamp prior to changing scents. If you prefer to change scents more often, only fill your lamp 1/4-1/3 full with fuel and it will run out of fuel faster

Can I use any brand of fuel in my SPA lamp?

Although we want you to use our scents because they are Made in the USA, reasonably priced, and burn hotter, we understand that you may occasionally come across bottles of other product. As long as the product is labeled CATALYTIC LAMP FUEL, it may be used in your Simple. Pure. Air lamp. Using anything other than catalytic lamp fuel (such as diffuser oil, cheap box store branded products, and heavy oil based products) will clog your wick and occasionally damage the interior glass of your lamp

How do I turn my lamp "off"?

Included with each lamp is a solid metal cap to place on your lamp when not in use. This will stop the catalytic process. Be careful, the lamp and cap will remain hot for 10-15 minutes after snuffing your lamp. If you have lost your cap, you can find replacements in our lamp accessory section

Are there any people who should not be around a catalytic lamp?

Occasionally, the alcohol content in our lamps can irritate newborns and infants age 0-3yrs old, pregnant women, the elderly, and immune-compromised convalescent people. This is very rare, and abnormal if this occurs
